Sometimes, the commercials they put on television are so stupid, it's not even funny. Recently, I saw the commercial, and it was one of the most asinine ads I've ever seen. A person was standing in line at a fast-food restaurant, and said something about back fat and a badonkadonk butt. Then, the voiceover said, "with fast food, what are you really getting?"
I think I understand what this ad is trying to imply. They're trying to imply that eating fast food will give you a big butt.
I have a problem with this commercial for a few reasons. First of all, I hate the implication that a big butt has anything to do with eating junk food. When are people going to learn that big butts are not only caused by unhealthy eating? It's been scientifically proven that a big butt is a healthy butt, and yet people still consider it the same as being obese! When the @$#% are people going to learn!?
Second, the person in the commercial was a guy. Since I am a heterosexual man, that couldn't be more of a turnoff for me. No strait man wants to hear about guy's butts. This isn't necissarily a problem so much as it is a major turnoff.
Honestly, is it any wonder that so many women with big butts are insecure about it? With everybody placing them in the same category as people who are overweight/obese, I can't exactly blame them for being upset. I think it's absolutely disgusting that the media is giving these people such Hell simply for possessing a specific body shape. In what plane of physical existence is that morally acceptable? Why does the media has to portray big butts in such a negative way? Why can't we accept that big butts are wonderful? Being attracted to an aspect of the female form that many women dislike is both frustrating an inconvienient for me, and most of those women probably wouldn't be so insecure if it weren't for the media putting such asinine ideas in peoples' heads.
And that's not even getting into the fact that the commercial is so damn common. Over the course of an hour, I saw the ad SO MANY TIMES THAT I LOST COUNT!!! And yet, despite how many times I saw the ad, I still have no idea what the @$#% they were trying to sell.
